FYI #041990la
Here are the results of my test with the Vectra QS/20 and
Novell's OS/2 Requestor software.
After receiving the customer's unit, I double checked the
configuration file (NET.CFG) file. The customer tried to set the
interrupt to 2, I/O base 2E0, and base memory of D0000.
Upon bootup, the system would give an error message indicating
that the Arcnet card could not be initialized. After checking to
make sure the OS/2 configuration files were correct (the proper
OS/2 Requestor statements invoked), I simply renamed his NET.CFG
file and make sure the Arcnet card was set at default -
everything worked fine. I tested two Arcnet cards with the
following configuration:
Standard Microsystems Corp
Arcnet-PC 130E Assy # 710132
Arcnet-PC 270E Assy # 71013201
Switches 2,5,6 OFF - switches 1,3,4,7,8 ON
IRQ 2
Contrary to reports, the OS/2 Requestor seems to work with no
problems in a HP Vectra QS/20 using HP OS/2 1.10.
